What is Fotomina? Fotomina LTD is an international stock photography agency (image bank) where people can buy and sell images to illustrate professional and commercial brochures, advertisements, magazines, websites, etc. All our images are available for professional use.
How does Fotomina work? Fotomina offers low-priced royalty free images starting from $1 or subscription system. A member can buy and download our images at an inexpensive rate. Photographer who sell images will be paid a commission based on the type of license purchased.
What is stock photography? Instead of assigning your own photographers, stock photography is a set of ready-to-use images for subscribers who purchased the rights to use them. With digital stock photography, you get to see the final image even before you are granted the rights to use them and these images can be licensed immediately. The cost for stock photography, especially royalty-free images are much lower compared to assignment photography. Stock photography saves you model, photographer, location, props, art direction and editing costs.
What is Royalty-Free? Royalty-Free Digital Stock Photography is a concept where user of the images does not have to pay any royalty for repeated use of the images. The buyer does not own the copyright of the images but have purchased the rights to use the images legally without additional fees or interruption from the retailer. These images cannot be sold or transferred but it offers a wide range of benefits; mainly lower pricing and convenience.
What are the differences between Royalty-Free and Rights-Managed? Rights-managed offers individual images to be rented through the negotiation of a specific price for a specific use. It offers clients exclusive rights plus the ability to restrict similar use of the image by others. The royalty-free concept allows customers an unlimited usage, where they do not need to pay royalties after the initial purchase. This greatly reduces the costs and allows greater freedom with the images purchased. Of course, by supplying all our images in digital format, our customers get to enjoy the advantage of being able to go straight to the color separator or print rather than having to scan them at an additional cost. Most importantly, it is more flexible than the traditional photo library.

How do I close my account? Please log into your account and write to customer support to close your account
How can I contact customer support? The Contact Us link can be found on the bottom of any page within Fotomina. Please use our online contact form to send us an inquiry, or email support@fotomina.com. Buyers I am registered/subscribed and storing images in a lightbox how long will the lightboxes be there? Your images will remain in your lightbox until you delete them.
What is a Lightbox? A Lightbox is used to store a group of images that you would like to eventually download or share with a colleague. You can place images into a Lightbox, and then later download the images, or send the Lightbox link to a friend/colleague for them to review. You are not obligated to download images in your lightbox, and its entirely up to you how many lightboxes you have, or if you use the images later.
What should I do if I forget my password or login name? If you cannot remember it your can recover your password. Just enter your email address and then hit submit. Your password will then be emailed to you.
How do I change my password? To change your password simply log into your account, click on the “my profile" link, click on About and then edit password.
What is your refund policy? Since you may view our actual images and the image size information upfront, we regret that we cannot provide refunds.
Does the image I download have a watermark on it? Images purchased will not be watermarked.
How does your licensing work exactly? All images are royalty-free. Detailed information can be found on our licensing page.
Do your images have model releases? Yes. In instances where photos have recognizable faces in them, those people have signed a model release which is on file in the Fotomina office. Some Editorial photos may not be model released. These Editorial photos will be indicated as such, directly below the photo.
Can I sell the images that I download? You may not sell the images that you download from Fotomina. You can use them in design elements, but not offer them for resale or distribution. What type of images does Fotomina need? Fotomina is always looking for high quality images from a variety of subjects.
Is there a fee to upload photos? Uploading images is completely free. Fotomina takes only a commission on images that are sold.
What image format does Fotomina accept? - Images should be at least 4 Million pixels (2200 x 1700). Anything lesser will be automatically rejected.
- JPEG format only with minimal 80% quality compression. - Vector files: .ai and eps. How long does the image selection process take? This process generally takes between 24 and 48 hours. But, if too many images are received, this time may be delayed.
Do my pictures of people require a model release? Yes all pictures of recognizable people will require you to submit a signed model release. If the model is under 18 then a parent must sign the model release. Model releases may be found here.
Why was my photo rejected? We are not able to accept every image, some images must be declined. Often images are declined for technical reasons such as noise, and exposure. Images may also be declined because the images do not meet our current needs or our editors feel the images may not be marketable.
Do I still have the right to use the photos or do I hand over the complete rights of my pictures to Fotomina? The copyright to the images belong to the photographer. We are merely selling them for you.
I have photos on the other stock sites, can I upload them to your site too? Photos are submitted on a royalty-free basis. You may submit and continue to sell your photos to other websites and stock photo agencies.
How many images can I submit? Theres no limit to the amount of images that you can submit.
Any guidelines which I need to consider when I keyword and describe images? Be precise and descriptive. Enter a minimum of 7 keywords for each image. Providing more keywords enables your image to match more searches and can be easily found. However, refrain from adding unrelated keywords (spamdexing) in order to have your images appear more often in any search.
What forms of payment does Fotomina offer? Payments are sent out via PayPal. |
